synopsis
When a Chinese mother arrives in Melbourne to find her missing daughter, she enlists the help of Ashley Hudson. Hooked on caffeine and bored with her job and loveless life, Ashley reluctantly agrees to help. She is soon drawn into the dark underworld of Melbourne as she tries to rescue three girls from a sex trafficking syndicate. Inspired by court transcripts and actual events, THE JAMMED is a social thriller about the sinister workings of illegal prostitution and governmental deportation.

Dee McLachlan’s began her career as an editor of cinema newsreels in South Africa, then producing over 50 programs for the SABC, including the award winning SOLO ASCENT, SILENT HUNTER (winning Gold at the NY Film Festival), plus the action series STEELMAN.

Dee has directed nine feature films: DOUBLE-0-KID, SCAVENGERS, DEADLY CHASE, RUNNING WILD (Brooke Shields, Martin Sheen), Tristar’s THE SECOND JUNGLE BOOK, THE JAMMED, 10TERRORISTS, OUT OF THE SHADOWS, and 2099: SOLDIER PROTOCOL (David Arquette). She also directed a block on the prison TV series, WENTWORTH.
